Six-year-old Braylon Beam found a brilliant and positive way to push through his ongoing battle with brain cancer – by dancing – and he came all the way from North Carolina to California to share his story with Ellen. Along with his parents Jesse and Meredith, Braylon sat down with our host to talk about his journey, dance a little, and most importantly, join tWitch as Guest DJ for the day. "There's not even words to describe it, we're just so overjoyed," Meredith told Ellen's Good News after the show.Jesse added, "These last few weeks have been surreal. The amount of support that's come from the community where we live and now, L.A., Ellen, it's unreal."After surprising the family with a special message from Ron Rivera, head coach of the Carolina Panthers, which is Braylon's favorite team, Ellen and Ford partnered to give the family a new Fusion hybrid, as they had recently totaled their own vehicle. Ellen later gave them $10,000 from Shutterfly to help with medical expenses."She's a person that tries to help people when they need it the most, and she does a great job, and we're just so blessed to have the opportunity," Meredith said.In fact, Ellen felt equally inspired by Braylon, and today, launched a new campaign to raise awareness for pediatric cancer through dancing. Ellen is encouraging all of her fans to post videos of themselves dancing on ellentube with the hashtag "#JustKeepDancing" in honor of Braylon and children like him."With her help and support, we can communicate about the needs and concerns about pediatric cancer and how families do struggle," Jesse explained. "You need to stay positive. We're out there, look us up – Bring It for Braylon on Facebook – we'll get together. We'll talk and we'll help you as best we can."Meredith agreed. "Talk about it, share it, don't keep it all inside. It's not the end all with cancer. You just have to make the best of the situation and you have to stay positive and that's what we're trying to do and keep a normal life."And dance! See our full interview with the Beams above!
